Visiting PG pilot - Borrow Gear?
Dear all, A friend of mine is visiting next week. She is an IPPI 5 pilot, Swiss and British licenses and has flown extensively in the Alps. She is on a summer internship at Los Alamos Labs and wasn't able to bring her PG stuff. She usually flies and pod and a Niviuk Hook 23 (low B) and is around 5'8...

Re: Flying Verbier, Switzerland
So... It is 12,017' high, the LZ is around 2 700' total flight time was 44 mins, there was a strong catabatic flow down the glacier. Spent a little too long playing around at the end of the glacier and squeaked over the next ridge to make it to the LZ. Here is another video ;) https://youtu.be/gC6J_...

Re: Questions for the Bi-Wingual
1. Having done the Tennessee Tree Toppers Team Challenge for 3 years and seeing PGs fly all 7 days with HG flying 2-3. Also wanting to have a wing when travelling especially abroad. 2. Most PG flying has been in TN to date. 3. Hugely! Going from HG to PG is straightforward. I did 2 half-days ground ...

Re: Taylor's Sun05June
It's was 13! I had planned to take both wings but my HG vehicle wouldn't start so had to grab the missus's car and just the PG wing. Good fun kiting and proximity flying the hill trying to soar. Some funky air at times just to make the LZ interesting. Mark was John's ace student demonstrating faultl...

PG Flying this w/e?
Hi folks, Wondering if there is going to be any PG flying this w/e? Just back from an extended stay down in TN where I got my P2, 57 mtn flights, 35 hrs of airtime and the following special skills: FL, FSL, HA, RLF, RS and TUR. Flew a variety of wings from A (Bolero) to High B (Advance IOTA) and fle...

Magic Valley Flying
Back down at Tennessee Tree Toppers flying the Sequatchie Valley. Been an awesome few days culminating in getting my P2 yesterday. 3 more flights and then 4 today - forecast was for no lift but the valley turned on big time. Some film from an earlier flight: https://youtu.be/8ZjonehqK7M If you haven...

Bi-wingualism...!
Down here at Henson's Gap getting 'converted' to PG with Dave Hanning. After 2 half days of kiting and 2 tandems did my first solo - awesome, great fun, very relaxed and ridge soared/thermalled for around 30 mins. 2nd solo - flew for over 45 mins, 3rd for over an hour and sadly 4th only 12 mins. Lan...

Re: 2016 Green Swamp Sport Klassic
Today sucked for me - 2 tows and didn't get above 2200'. Dan and Greg got one climb to 6000' and went on a death glide before landing. Davis Straub also landed pretty close to Quest and we had one pilot in the trees with a broken arm who tried to get back to Quest but didn't make it... Hoping for a ...

Re: 2016 Green Swamp Sport Klassic
Thanks Knut, It was a tough day yesterday, over 24 000 feet of climbing, 29 thermals and oh so close to goal, just needed one more climb... So far, the big fat easy Florida thermals are notable by their absence and it was blue all day. Day 1 I was a little rusty thermalling but definitely feeling be...

Lightly used F4 in excellent condition. Bought new as first glider, now rarely flown. Re: Highland Aerosports 2016 Season News
Perhaps just a variation of Ward's idea but an annual 'Highland Membership' fee to be 'allowed' to fly there followed by tow fees etc. Payable at start of season and pro-rata'd for new pilots turning up mid-season. Would give Sunny and Adam working capital early in the year. Lots of great options co...

Re: Highland Aerosports 2016 Season News
Jim M,
Tried that but it turns out that NZ is the land of opportunity for migrant tug and paraglider pilots. He is staying and has no plans to return any time soon and good luck to him. He did us proud and is off on a new adventure.
Rich
PS. Damn his black heart...

Re: Highland Aerosports 2016 Season News
Adam, Have you thought of posting on the .org? With the recent support to get the RRG funded maybe the thought of one of the best tow parks with the best team closing for want of a tug pilot might get someone to commit for the season? PS. I know some black ops guys - want Rooney renditioned and retu...
