Re: Woodstock LZ and farm may be for sale
... Just another thought that most Virginians probably already know about: Virginia law allows for eligible open space, forested, and agricultural land to be taxed based on the land's value in-use (use value) as opposed to the land's market value. --------------------- Significant tax reduction for ...

Fascinating news. I will be happy to contribute to a Woodstock LZ funding effort.
I am guessing there are other out-of-state pilots willing to do the same.

.... Looks like great flying on a very blue day! It appears that John launched two hours after Ward (according to the Doarama start times for each track log) and it is interesting to compare the gap crossings for each flight. Thx gentlemen, for sharing the track links and Ward for photos too. I'll b...

... Flight Report from May 8: Arrived at launch to find Joe S. and a friendly local H3 pilot setting up. Winds were WNW with moderate to strong thermals cycles coming through. Nicely formed cumulus filled the sky with no over-development anywhere. Cloud base was maybe 7.5K to 8K. Joe and the local H...

Re: Woodstock this Wed.
On the drive to WS I noticed a couple of broken lenticulars mixed in with general cloud cover in the Strasburg area so I had some concern about wind velocity. My wife and I arrived to the launch area shortly after Gary S. and Joe S. launched. No other pilots were around. Some strong cycles rolled th...

My wife and I will not arrive in VA/PA until after the weekend but I am keeping an eye on Wednesday for the Pulpit in case there are any weekday Pulpit pilots hanging around.
Also, does anyone have any waypoints for 'allowable' (and/or 'not allowable') Pulpit over-the-back LZs ?

That field seems a bit of a challenge for a topless even with perfect landing conditions(!). Your vide...

Crossover 14 for sale (sweet flying hang glider!)
I am selling my Crossover 14 (made by Seedwings Europe) and I will be heading to the VA/MD/PA area for 10-14 days starting April 28. I can bring the glider with me if anyone is interested. The Crossover is between the U2 145 and Sport 2 155 performance-wise and I think has better handling than the U...

Thank you Knut for the report and the 'doarama' link. Did you happen to make one of your videos documenting the flight? I'm just curious to see what the launch now looks like from the air. It is noteworthy that the CHGPA has such a good relationship with the Forestry Service. I have plans ...

Thank you Randy for access to your .igc file and to Ward for the comparison photos. Great educational data especially regarding the gap crossing. A fun way to review .igc files (in case you don't have 'SeeYou' that Larry Bunner mentioned) is to upload an .igc file to 'Doarama'. Once uploaded you can...
