Those Skywackers are at it again! This from Phil: "ATTENTION All pilots, As you all ready know, June 12 - 14 will be our annual EAGLE ROCK fly-in....and again this year on Sat night we will be having our big cook-out there. The club will furnish cold sides and maybe other goodies to eat for our...

Re: Region 9 Election Results

Great news Dan. I understand that Felipe chairs the USHPA Towing Comittee, and that tow operations may be his main focus. It appears that you (Dan) have helped to bring more attention and awareness of the concerns, needs, and challenges of the Mountain Flying community in Region 9. With a variety of...

Re: 2014 Spring Meeting (BOD ELECTIONS) Mar 28th

I'm not sure who is on the ballot for what...maybe that's listed here somewhere and I missed it.

Might not matter to me, as I will not make it to the Meeting, but it may matter to others.

Does the USHPA require a Safety Officer for your (our) Club ?
Do you have an Events Coordinator?

Re: CHGPA Board meeting agenda request

Well..I think I got a little carried away there. Sorry Dan ! I think I'm stinkin' up your thread. If we drop "with observer" from "H2/P2 with observer"...we will have just H2/P2. I don't think we want that. Some have suggested we insert some other term, Like: Sponsor, or Site Gui...

Re: CHGPA Board meeting agenda request

That Lookout Mtn Colorado program looks excellent. Some things that I did not see defined is what an "advanced Hang 2" is. They do define what an advanced P2 is. Interesting that only Local Novices can fly there.....not visiting Novice pilots. Visiting pilots must be H3/P3 (Intermediate) T...

Re: CHGPA Board meeting agenda request

i think that the Crestline Soaring Society (Marshall/Crestline) has pretty darn solid guidelines for their Sites and Airpark. Their sites are rated as H3/P3; but they allow some of the sites to be flown by Novice Pilots (H2/P2) if they have an Instructor Endorsement. From that point on, he should fl...

Re: 2014 Spring Meeting (BOD ELECTIONS) Mar 28th

Thanks Matthew. Is there an avenue for the membership to get concerns onto the agenda for the upcoming March 28 meeting? Does that agenda need to be approved by the Board? It seems that there are, beyond the elections, currents events that would like to be discussed, voted upon, and start being impl...

Re: HOGBACK VIOLATIONS- DISCLOSURE

I too have only been here a couple of years, but not flying very often these days. Really looking forward to more flying, meeting more of you, and flying more venues in Region 9. I think East facing venues generally offer a better opportunity for getting up and breaking out earlier in the day. I hop...

Re: Crestline Calif Sunday Aug 20

Mr. Dan T .........(not to be confused with Dan Tuck) It's tough to beat Marshall/Crestline for the Huge/Smooth Evening Glass; however, Soboba can be quite magical in the evening. There are several possibilirties there. The 4-Wheel ATV can carry a couple of pilots...and the Flight Gear goes in a tra...
