More great conditions at Smithsburg. Just pick the type of cycle you want to launch-fly-land in. Only had time/energy for one flight but it was fun.
Thanks to Bacil and Mark for having enough enthusiasm to keep us going.

Re: Pulpit Sunday May 23rd
Launched last. Nice air to race the Bald Eagles to the Knob and back. Spent much of the flight with full VG practicing smoother flight. Of course the Eagles did the VG thing also and left me in their wake. Did not find a good climb so just raced Bacil back. Faster than needed approach and goof...

Re: Pulpit Saturday May 1st
Launchable and flyable all day. Short version: Launched after Will and Allan. Flew with Walt and he looked great in his new Sport 3. Punchy down low. Played up and down for a while. Finally got a nice climb to 6K+ and drifted towards Chambersburg. Just nice air but blue conditions. I was tempted to ...

Re: Pulpit Saturday May 1st
ETA 12:30 Aron, conditions might be "both." It looks like a reasonable call although there are no guarantees. "Lighter" winds by Pulpit standards (<22mph) and punchy thermals expected this afternoon. Chance of glass-off later. Also a chance to fly Elizabethville on Sunday 5/2. CF

Re: Pulpit Saturday April 3rd
Some fun flying. I launched after Mark, Tom and Allan. Nice launch and flight conditions. Cohesive thermals, good climbs and pleasant texture. I found I was underdressed and did not have thick enough gloves or bar mitts. After a fast climb to 5K MSL I was permanently chilled but relaxed and in the z...

Gate on main entrance to CHGPA property?
I would propose that the gate on the road was placed without the proper permit or authority. It could be a hazard and prevent access to the property. One day we could find it locked. Was this allowed by the CHGPA?

Parking Permit?
Just happened to notice it "appears" that some kind of parking permit system is going to be put in place? Forgive me in advance if this was discussed in detail during the online meetings, but I was not able to attend them. I would like to see information like this advanced on the BB as thi...

Re: Late Saturday 3/13
Launch conditions were a little strong with higher gusts, but not that bad. Launched Tom first and I followed. Pleasant flying conditions until dark. Thanks to Allan, Mark and Bacil for their expert launch help. Thanks to Bacil for the retrieve. Thanks to Mark for glider pictures.

Re: Suction Cup Hood HG mounts
My homemade ones have worked ok on three different cars. Made with PVC and various fitting. Suction cups from Harbor Freight. I have been able to modify it for different types of hoods. If the hood has compound curves or folds the suction cup will not work. Also depends on the geometry of the front ...

Re: Pulpit Saturday January 2nd
Some really nice flying at the Pulpit. Allan launched earlier and was effortlessly flying all around. I got there later(3:50) and launched in higher wind conditions with a slight N cross. Thanks to Bacil, Jon and Anthony for the help. The launch was a little slippy and wet, but the wire crew did an ...

Sac is best with due N. Lighter winds also. Hyner would be a better bet.

Edit: Saturday morning: Joe says Sac may work and will be around.
Does not look promising to me at this point, but if it changes I could be there in the PM.
