Re: High Rock update

I have the plat. There is no info on the owner on the plat. I've had several realtors look into finding out who owns the land adjacent to High Rock-- they came up empty. Matthew Matthew, The tax assessor's office should know. Did the realtors check with them? I'd be happy to make some calls if you ...

Re: George Tudor; Sad News

I just heard George's name on WTOP radio and said Oh Sh!t, not him. George was a real nice guy. Met him many times on the training hill when I was getting back into flying a few years ago. The world loses another good one.

Regrets,

Re: omigod, we're running a flight park

Wow! That is so cool. I'm going to have to start flying again soon so I can fly there. (Actually I am getting my family life in some semblance of order so that maybe next year I can commit aviation again). Much success!!! :D

Re: A hanggliding reunion-old timers reunited

Sorry to hear about Rick's dad passing. Rick's name is on my USHPA card as my first rating signoff in 1979. I would have loved to have seen those guys again as I was a student and later an assistant teacher of many of them back in those days, as well as you too Richard. But I have been out of touch ...

Re: OT: calling all friends of Emma Jane

If you need a trap I can lend out the one I use to catch and relocate the groundhogs that sometimes try to live on the back of my lot. It also works for racoons. :-)

Thanks for doing a good thing. :-)

Re: Glider Ride? DC to Cumberland or Florida

My brother in law is driving my VW Vanagon camper to Florida to Key West in two weeks. If you can have someone do a pick-up off of I-95 I am sure we can get it anywhere on 95 you can have someone meet it.

You are welcome to store your glider in my garage but you'll have to drive to Brookeville, MD 20833 to get it. :-)

I use the option in Paypal of paying thru my credit card only. They don't have my bank account at all. I figure I am also getting protection thru my credit card company as well. I've never had any issues and feel OK using Paypal this way (so far).

I can vouch for the torque of the Jetta Tdi. We have a 2002 Tdi wagon and this last summer we had to take it camping instead of our Vanagon Westfalia since I am still putting the Subaru engine in the Vanagon. We had the Jetta loaded with 3 adults, a child, about 300 lbs on the roof rack  and ...

Thanksgiving

Beautiful sentiment Spark. :-) I am sitting here contemplating a hernia surgery and trying to figure out how to get back in the air soon (Spring?). I've been a lurker most of the time, but it's folks like you and those on this list that keep me up for a return to the air. Happy Thanksgiving. We trul...

Feedback on powered flight in USHGA

FWIW, I recently sent our Region 9 rep an email giving my view on the possible inclusion of powered flight into the USHGA (after seeing Rich Hays' post). Felipe (dr.amunategui@att.net) would like to hear from more USHGA members so he knows what we have to say. Dave O His reply to me is copied below:...

Matthew, Thanks. I'm not planning on flying on Saturday (I need to get a lot of FL and AT before I fly the mountains). Just wanted to hang out and enjoy everyone's company. I'll be at Smithsburg when it opens this fall. :-) Dave O On 9/15/05 9:53 PM, "Matthew" <adventuretales@yahoo.com> wr...
