Nice Knut!

We replaced the solar panel and Jim Crocker reinstalled it 6/27.

Alan had a hg flight for over 2 hours up to 6200 on Saturday. He is going there today Sunday. One LZ across the road is available and the other that was being hayed might be.

From Felix: The regular LZ was not done (hayed) today, so still out of bounds. We are welcome to land on the field across the street from it. It has haybales at of today, so not sure if thats ok for a HG.

The forecast looks quite good for flying then.

There is ample crop at Smithsburg so assume closed until fall. We got the weather station re-installed at the Pulpit and the setup area and launch area look good. https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KPAMCCON24

Jerry Nielsen was a previous chgpa member and hang glider pilot. He passed away yesterday from health complications from cancer and covid. I chose to post on this forum because it is seen more often.

Glad it worked for Bari but we still need to get Bills Hill open again and we only need some names and PA address of a CHGPA members. Please assist.

Thanks Jeff & Rich for your work in sharing the information about the funeral service to the flying community in such a short time. I think most of us thought the funeral would not be so soon.

WS is looking pretty good for HG today. I am out of commission with a sprained ankle from 7/3 or I would go.

I am not going but if anyone local to D.C. is going, please contact me. I would like you to take a harness along to a new hg pilot.

The site that use to have radio towers and was planned for housing, no longer has the fence around the field. I kited there 3 times this week.

I guess I should post about my PG launch mishap at WS. Launch conditions appeared fairly good for PG that day though I heard that a number of pilots had some issues in trying to launch earlier and later after my attempt. Both Walt and Alan soared their HG at WS today. Very cloudy but adequate lift. Also, a lot of PG's flew and soared today.

I am coming to the Pulpit today Monday.
