Thank you for your accident report.

What kind of wheel opens? Snap-On ? What diameter?
What model glider has uncoated nose wires?

Re: Hyner 4th of July
As of Saturday July 7th, the Northeast Launch is re-cleared & widened, thanks to the efforts of SteveVan, Doug, Will, Spoons, Alan, Dee, and myself. Had a nice, if brief, soaring flight after the work party.

Hi Hugh,
I didn't recognize your name, so I have to ask your rating(s) ? "501" is a Hang 3 site, 1 mile upwind to the LZ. Double surface only.

Re: HG/PG acidente in Rio
The hang gliders launch off a ramp some 20 feet above and behind than the PG slope launch. This isn't the only time this has happened there.

Also, Terry Bono's Blue Mountain Ski Area's North site (N. of Allentown, PA) has a recently improved LZ.

Re: H2 Friendly "Local" Sites
Sacramento, PA and Jacks Mountain, PA also have large LZ's - but only until crops are planted, which could be any day now. Similarly, the Elmira, NY sites Harris Hill, Indian Cliffs, and Katydid have large winter LZ's. Harris Hill maintains a pretty large LZ during the summer - thanks to the sailpla...

Re: List of Insured Sites subject to Closing
A quick check of the USHPA website reveals a few discrepancies with the above list, but the gist is the same - most popular sites are subject to be shut down come March 2016, unless everyone pitches in for this one-time event that can free us from the "tyranny" of for-profit insurance comp...

Also, Friday's SE forecast shouldn't rule out Hyner, as it is launchable and soarable in any direction, if you count the NE launch across the valley.

Here's a link to a satellite photo of the Cockerham Youth Group Area of the Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area (NRMA). If you live in NE MD, northern DE, or SE PA, you're gonna wanna check these hills out. I feel they are best suited to paragliding, as the landing room is limited. /www.goog...

Google: "Sacramento, PA" and "Rough and Ready, PA" to find the towns closest to launch on this ~30 mile ridge. Note: this is pretty much a Hang-Glider only site.
