Re: Options for Sun26Feb?

Bacil called at 12:50 PM, told me he was at launch, cycles were nice and that he didn't bring his glider and he would be happy to help/assist on all fronts (from launch to retrieve and most importantly hang out with my kids). So, around 1PM I decided and told Bacil my ETA would be just after 3 PM. R...

Re: Pulpit/Smithsburg weekend 1/7 - 1/8

Woodstock delivered for sure! I got to launch at 3PM and after unloading the glider helped Bacil launch. It was blowing between 10-15mph and Bacil had a smooth launch. After that I setup and launched, just when I was launching I saw Bacil heading towards the LZ. I launched at 4PM in +15 mph winds cl...

It's all East so Edith's again for the coming weekend

Coming Friday and Saturday (Saturday being the better day) looks good for Edith's Gap again. I know it's too far out but just keep an eye out for it. As that makes planning easier :)

Wise words. If I may humbly include importance of "Spot landing"? It's my favorite past time.

Re: Flying options for Sat20Aug : Edith's Gap?

That is exactly what was in my mind when I picked up the glider (pre-21 seconds) that "what the hell". As for patience you got to wait for good things right? And again, couldn't have done it without your support! Frankly the landing is "NOT all that" and I earnestly believe, it's...

Re: Flying options for Sat20Aug : Edith's Gap?

Below is my Edith's landing clip. Frankly, I don't think it's as difficult as it's made to be. It surely is technical and that's about it. I did an up-slope downwind landing and come below the trees very quickly to avoid the gradient. Please let me know your thoughts "on the video" :) http...

Re: Flying options for Sat20Aug : Edith's Gap?

Mark, you have patience of a saint.

Well guys I did it :) Landed Edith's Gap LZ mid field. Landed downwind but upslope and kind of swooped under the wind gradient so had a perfect flare.

So happy.

Couldn't have done without Mark C. I owe you big time!

Re: Flying happening somewhere today, Tues16Aug?

I was thinking the same too and checked Edith's Gap station several times but it never turned on, there was just no wind. Randy went to checkout Edith's Gap in the evening. It was so light that he decided to bag his PG as it wasn't even good for a forward launch. Thursday and then Saturday look prom...
