Re: Weather analysis
Good to hear that WS was flyable today after all! I was having my doubts... What I wrote last night was still valid early this AM when I briefly checked NOAA and saw about 11-12mph Winchester noon forecast with further decline in the PM, i.e. weaker than the day before. Of course, as it goes, just 2...

I am with you. But, if you want to flap 12+ ft wings, you'd better think of re-engineering your genome. More gym and steroids won't do it.

Re: Fri Dec 21: CHGPA 2012 Winter Bacchanal
7PM Dec 21 2012 EST, that's about 12 hours after the end of the world as we know it, according to some. Perfect time for a Bacchanal!
Unfortunately, I will be in a transit between the New and Old world (JFK to PRG) at that time and won't make it. Have fun!

Re: Daniels Sat26Nov ?
Thanks, it's great to be back! By the way, really good looking low wind launches by all three hangies at Daniels yesterday. One more reason for leaving with a smile even after a day that did not offer much more than a sled ride.

Re: Very sad news from Ridgely : Keavy Nenninger
It is was truly stunning news on Saturday about Keavy, soon after I called Highlands to arrange for another tandem... It was difficult to believe and the right words are still hard to find. It is now only a little more than a week ago that I met Keavy at Ridgely and took an early morning tandem flig...

Re: Daniels Sun the 17th
Matt, comparing the tracklogs is a good idea! No tracking on my vario, unfortunately My mistake was trying to glide over the fields around 692/230 intersection toward the hill S of Wolftown. That was a sinkhole, perhaps in a lee of thermals on the W/SW side. My second mistake was changing my mind an...

Re: Independence Day at Pulpit
Thanks for the reminder. After checking the CHGPA site, only now I also noticed that in addition to the above, I was supposed to send the signed Pulpit Waiver to Carlos before sledding there for the first time two weeks ago. Ground-bound tomorrow then.

Hello Hugh, This was a brutal test and I am sorry that somehow you had to take it. It shook me quite a bit to read what happened to you but at the end, reading of how you and Ann and others handled yourself at Daniels and beyond, flying feels even more precious and the flying people around here even...

Re: PG Instruction ideas and opinions
Around here, the closest PG instructors are : Terry and Maria Bono ( http://www.pennsylvaniaparagliding.com) who do training at the Little Gap flight park (http://www.littlegap.com/index.htm) close to Palmerton, PA, about 4 hours from here. In addition to training hills and the first "real moun...
