Re: Launch in Halifax Pa question

Bacil informed me it is Elizabethville, a westerly facing site that he has been flying regularly for the past two years. It is controlled by the Hyner Club.

Just came home from a family gathering in Halifax , Pa. The gathering was at the base of a ridge with a launch cut out. It is part of the Weiser state forest. When I looked it up it said the site was controlled by the Blue Ridge Hang Gliding Club. The club has no website I could find. Can anybody fi...

Yes, they were from EG. A gaggle went north with Austin Kasserman ending up with 89 miles and near the Pulpit.
I started out later and did 50 miles, ending up near Charlestown, WV. A personal best. Great day!

Re: Daniel's Saturday 6/15

The launch is doable, but could use some work. Bacil and Jon tramped down some grass. I treated the field I landed in as an xc field, hence I made the video for the young couple. It is not a usual field that we land in. Check the video. There is a track of the flight.

Re: Daniel's Saturday 6/15

Here is a quick video I made for the young couple who lived in the farmhouse next to the field I landed in. After watching John land in the main lz, he did fine, but it looked a little rock and roll, I decided to land in a field to the west of the main lz's.

Re: Bills Hill on 6/8

Here is the video I made of the 6/8/19 flight at Bill's Hill I made for the farmer, in whose field I landed. Note the sideways carabiner, not a good thing. Gotta check that on preflight.....

Re: Sunday 4/28 Woodstock

The winds were strong and gusty when we arrived at launch but we set up anticipating a decrease in velocity. Gary eventually launched in a lull. I made my way to launch but decided to pack it in due to a very gusty north cross. Thanks to Joe for being available to drive and his help on launch. Randy...

Litesport 4 for sale

Eric Swanson (a Charlottesville area pilot) sent me this post and asked me to put it on the forum. So here it is: The glider is an early 2000’s Litesport 4. I bought it used in 2008. It is in pretty good shape, but given the age I’d rather someone take it for parts than to fly it. I also have a spar...

Re: Daniels Thursday 28th

Unfortunately I will not be available Thursday afternoon, but 48 hrs ahead it is looking good. Looks like a number of hg pilots are going. It has been awhile since there has been some hg xc reported from Daniels. It would be great to see some pics of Old Rag taken from an hg.
