The ramp experience was kind of extreme, probably after lots of times up there a pilot gets more comfortable

I was camped at Hyner, there 4 pilots soared in the mid to late morning, then conditions were blown out till around 6 pm. I snuck in a half hour flight as it was calming down at around 6.

Wow, nice flights and video! Congrats! Woodstock was the place to be it sounds. I was camped at Hyner and farther away from Woodstock...otherwise I'd have been there. Hyner was ok in the morning, then blown out till 6pm when I managed to sneak in a half hour flight.

Good info, thanks Knut! I was trying to find more places to fly HG on the east coast while on a trip from PA to GA and back to PA. So there is a reason Dickey Ridge isn't frequently used by HG. Any other sites that CHGPA recommends for HG other than Woodstock and the Pulpit? I heard of Bill's Hill.....

Hello, Has anyone applied for a permit lately? I was wondering how long it typically takes the Park Service to process it? How much lead time is needed? Does the club do one of these every year or is it up to the individual or a group of pilots who want to fly there to do one for that group of pilot...
