Any chance for flights over the Shenandoah this weekend?

I'm going to be kayaking on the south fork of the Shenandoah this weekend near Luray, Va. Being a total noob, I have no idea what to look for on the weather maps yet. Is there any chance that anyone will be flying in that area between Thursday of this week and Sunday? I'd love to know if I should lo...

Re: How long will it take me?

Thanks Valerie. I'm in the midst of planning my wedding (this September) so it's putting a damper on my available time to go and train at Blue Sky. I hate to say it, but in order to block out a series of time for training I may need to wait until later in the summer, once things calm down with plann...

Re: How long will it take me?

Wow, thanks Cragin. That does put a better perspective on things. I'm pretty excited. I'm trying to schedule another trip to Blue Sky as soon as possible. Ward, Blue Sky offers tandem flights as well and that's where I've selected to do my training. I'll definitely get some tandem time in, thanks.

How long will it take me?

I know this is probably a pretty tough question to answer, so maybe the best way to ask is "How long did it take you?" I'm trying to gauge how long, or how many lessons it'll take to reach H2 so I can come out and fly some of these sites with you guys. It seems like it's heavily dependent ...

Re: Saturday NW...

Can't you just bring some eggs and hide them around the launch site? Keeps the kids occupied. If you hide them really well, you may be able to get a few hours in!

Thanks Jon.

I'm a 9-5er. Are any of the sites within an hour or so of Richmond? Probably not I expect. I'll keep an eye on the boards and see when I'm free on a Saturday or Sunday. It may be a couple of weeks, but I'll get out to meet some of you guys eventually.

Re: Wanna Be here, first trip to Blue Sky was on Sunday

Hey thanks for the kind words guys! I'm really looking forward to it. I'm planning a wedding and we're into the thick of that right now, so it might be a couple of weeks before I can get back to Blue Sky. Jon - The next free weekend I have when Steve thinks the wind may not be right for training I'l...

Wanna Be here, first trip to Blue Sky was on Sunday

Hello all, My name's Brian, I currently live in Henrico, Va., just to the west of Richmond. I've been reading books and watching videos regarding hang gliding for months and am way more excited than I probably ought to be. I just wanted to put up a post to introduce myself and say thanks to the guys...
