Re: High Rock Sunday

It was nice to meet all of you. Johan and I came back to Hagerstown throw Smithsburg, where I could fly a couple of minutes before the wind and gusts become too strong and turbulent (little collapse). Some HG students overthere. It was thinking that it would be a great opportunity to learn hang glid...

Re: HIgh Rock Sunday

average wind speed 12mph at Smithsburg, rusts around 18mph. Too much for paragliders.
We will do another try later this afternoon around 4h30.

Next week end 7/8th around Hagerstown

Hello all, I plan to go flying this week-end if the weather is ok. Are there any website which provide realistic prediction (rain, wind at different level, thermal instability, etc) here in West Viriginia / Maryland ? Second thing is that I met at Hagerstown a swedish hang-glider (35 years of practi...

Re: High Rock Sunday

I went to Pulpit to look at the take off and landing area. around 10mph average wind speed; up to 20/23 mph when thermals blow the take off. Direction: slight left (20 degrees) Regarding birds, and power of thermals at the take off, I have the feeling that today was a quite unstable day, with modera...

Re: Introduction flaille

Thanks all for your welcome. It seems to be a dynamic forum! :)
That's a great news Rod, I have actually my IPPI5 card, which should fit (if I am right) with the P4 US rating.
See you tomorrow Matt if it's confirmed.

Introduction flaille

Hello all, I have already discussed by email with Jim and Le during December. I recently (yesterday 10:00 pm) arrived in US, at Hagerstown MD and plan to stay there during one or two years for work. I have been paragliding in France since 2008 and am currently flying an Ozone Delta2. If some of you ...
