Re: HC 2022 : R2G mini Comp : June 3rd - June 11th

The H C crew is having a blast racing around the Eastern Shore this week. On this coming Saturday morning Massey Aerodromes is hosting their Antique airplane fly in., It's a pretty cool event. We usually head over there around 8 am watch some arrivals hang out for a bit and then return to our field ...

Re: Eastern shore XC 7-24-21 (driver needed)

Ward , Geeze maybe I'm mistaken, but that came off a bit harsh, don't worry I have thick skin, and I thought we were buddies. . I have been flying on the eastern shore since 91' and am deeply passionate about it. When Highland closed, the "privileged few" started talking and tried to figur...

Sacramento Wednesday 5-12-21

A few of us Pa pilots are planning on going to the SAC tomorrow, come on up and join the fun. Forecast looks great, 6-7 k cloudbase, 600ish fpm lift, less than 20 mph wind at base. We are probably going to set a task for those interested in XC.

Re: Smithsburg Saturday Afternoon Jan. 30th

Great pictures, I really enjoyed viewing them and vicariously flying in the warmth of my house. The 2nd picture of Danny is pretty cool , it appears as though he's instinctively going for his cocoon boot with his foot (years of muscle memory/reflexes) while maintaining a perfect angle of attack..Per...

Re: Sacramento Sunday June 7th

Sunday turned out to be a good day for the HC gang. While we didn't complete the task we got closer than last week, the up wind leg into a 15+or- head wind was challenging. In the end we all landed at the primary lz , we had climbs to 7100msl , 600fpm lift , and flight times of 2.5 hours, landing by...

Re: Sacramento Sunday June 7th

Looks like some of us Highland Challenge pilots are going to fly at Charlie's site again on Sunday. As of Saturday afternoon the forcast is looking nearly identical to last Sunday, so I think we'll call the same task, out and return to Raven Haven launch.

The XC skies forecast is looking very good, many of us Pa pilots are intently focused and following the forecast. Hopefully we can all come out of isolation and socially distance at cloud base.

Re: Pulpit Saturday June 22nd

Great to see so many pilots soaring at the sac, it was my first foot launch in well over a year. To add another equation onto the strong and challenging launch conditions, I'm foot launching my brand new Aeros Kombat 13.5 GT for the first time. Just like riding a bike, I'm off with out a hitch and i...

conditions are looking good, a bunch of local pilots will be there in the morning doing a site clean up and flying in the afternoon. It should be a great day to see some friends and do some flying. Maybe we should set up a task, to the river and back along the ridge. Waivers for the Sac are availabl...

The caretakers of Sacremento are planning on a site maintainance day on Sat 4-22-17 . Hopefully it's soarable and everyone's work is rewarded with a nice flight. I had the opportunity to fly there last Thursday with Ric C and Chris B, we all stayed up and had alot of fun .

Lets give a big shout out to John on this huge accomplishment. John and his new Aeros are a combination to be recond with, I have done a few XC's with him this summer and it's a challenge to stay with him. Larry Bunner and JD also are in the top 11 in points :D

The passing of TR Johnson

Our dear friend lost his battle with ALS on monday august 22. A major figure in the central Pa HG scene scince the early 70s, he would often be seen at Hyner, Jacks, Pleasant Gap,Sacramento, 501, and some of the less known sites in the area. He had occasionally flown the sites in the Capitol club, a...
