Re: Pulpit Weekend 6/29 - 6/30

Nice flight Bacil, landed quite late! I was hoping you'd jump the river and fly to Charlie's.... something I failed to do coming down that ridge despite much trying. I hope we can try again soon.

Here's a shot of Ric getting above launch before hitting the end of the slot... it was ON all day at the SAC, just beautiful. https://photos.app.goo.gl/jR7kgrtVpvvMfdae9 https://photos.app.goo.gl/jR7kgrtVpvvMfdae9 Not sure if this link will work? We had delusions of flying down to the river and back...

I'm working Sat but I do have Fri off it the weather works? I'll need to see if I can wangle it with the boss of me as well. Oh yeah, ... I'm still lurking, at least when I'm not in FLA, sunning myself.

Re: News from Santa Teresinha, Bahia, Brazil

Great report guys. Heather and I loved Brazil as well. We had a great trip there in 2017 and went to Brasilia and Rio and flew both sites numerous times. If you go to Brasilia, call me or email me if you want some info.

Re: East Coast Championship - 2019

I'll be there. This place is the most casual, easy and care free XC site I've flown. LZ's everywhere. It's not so much a competition than a weeklong XC blowout with all your buds with bonfires and parties most every night. We should call it the East Coast (Scored) XC-Palooza, as there are rarely eno...

Re: Accident with Nene Rotor

Sounds like Nene is OK. Very glad to hear it. I met him last year in FL at the Quest comp and again up in Midwest and down in Brazil. He is a very nice guy and I saw him take time out of his day numerous times to help others (significant considering he usually showed up at the last minute to launch!...

Re: Opinions on the GoPro Hero5 Black?

Hi Guys, Mark, the Sony was bulletproof for 13 flying days in Brazil, pretty rough handling. It has over 40 hours and 13 of my "landings" under it's belt. Also a couple trips on the mountain bike. No issues at all, and GREAT battery life so far! Knute, love to catch up... you said the magi...

Re: Opinions on the GoPro Hero5 Black?

Hey Mark, Hope all is good, long time no fly. Just got back from Brazil and I bought a Sony X3000 action cam for that trip. I really like it, I got it over the GoPro5 because it has both optical and electronic image stabilization and a sensor with larger pixels (means better dynamic range and low li...

Re: Living The Dream (Still)

Bun, Amazing to think of 40 plus years of flying. I am recently 50 and have been contemplating what will happen as I get on in life. When must I stop? I can' even stomach the thought, as like you... Every time I see a circling bird I lose my ability to focuse. I am at about 14 years now, and meeting...

Re: John Simon ranked 3rd in USA

Thanks Jim, Knut... I am hoping to fly this weekend, havent' been to Woodstock in a while. Got to convince the wife to let me free! Looks like a bunch of really good pilots are slacking off and not flying as many comps in the last few years, so some of us bottom feeders are squeaking higher. Bun is ...

Hey Pete,
Just saw most of the show. Johnny is a good ambassador for our sport really, might not let my sister date him... But he's sharp and personable and does a great job conveying our enthusiasm. We are fortunate. Thanks for the heads up and hope to see you soon.

Liz'Ville. We also were dealing with weak conditions, due mostly to a high overcast that only occasionally had a few holes in it . The winds were light and steady, a bit left cross and often straight in and weak. We all opted to wait, hoping some of the distant cummies would drift over. They in gene...
