Pulpit Sunday Oct. 13th

Post by XCanytime »

Multiple cold fronts are forecast to move across the lower 48 this week, w/ the 2nd one packing some oomph to it. Looking at the Pulpit next Sunday if it's not too strong. Bacil

Timeline has moved up by 18 hours. Looks good after 2P tomorrow. Any interest? Bacil

Frustrating to see the timing has changed.... Evening committment on Saturday, so not sure I can stick it out for a late-day flight (Friday's NWS surface hourly is calling for the direction to swing at closer to 3pm). But I'll keep watching the updates, ever-hopeful! :D

PS: Looks like it might be SSE@6 Sun PM at Edith's Gap, so also thinking of taking the Falcon down there for a flight....

NWS just updated their sfc 'cast, and it's now indicating just a tiny bit S of due west as early as 1pm! Woot!!

weird, *crickets* thus far on The Pulpit tomorrow....

Admittedly, it's a day-of frontal passage, could be stronger than forecast.

But OTOH... W@6, going WNW? Sounds pretty darn good, if you do the usual +10 for the Pulpit :D

Anyone "In!" ?

Could be wrong (usually am) but these two images will keep me home doing chores.

I hope it works for those that go!

I can be at Pulpit by 12:30 or 1. Rode by Smiithburg this morning... The hill looks good and the LZ looks like the soybeans will be cut soon.

I am at my property, about 20 miles South of the Pulpit. It is overcast and ugly. Had some sprinkles in the past hour. Doesn’t look encouraging. I am just doing my ‘site maintenance ‘.

Looks like conditions really ramped up (post frontal). To intense for most of us, IMHO.

Would have been easy to get into the air after 2P and way before it got out of hand. Plenty more Pulpit days ahead before it gets too cold for most. Bacil
