Given how cr@appy the weekend is looking at the moment, I'll at least take a look at conditions tomorrow, mid-morning.

Not sure if it will be worth taking some leave.. But who knows?

Interesting day at WS. Joe, Gary, Tev, John, and Adam showed up. I think I was the 1st to take off on light W cross. I had a good time, flew for a little bit more than 1h, top 1500ft above launch, landed well in the "new LZ." I had an annoying issue with my Vario that really disturbed my flight. Thermals were pushing me away behind the ridge. I did not want to land in Front Royal and scarified altitude to be close to the LZ. If I was not such a lousy pilot I could easy XC...may be next time :)

Tev, visitor pilot from NJ, got a lot of turbulence due to the W cross and landed a few min after taking off. Gary and Joe landed on the pond field after flying for at least 1 h. John and Adam took off later in the day, but due to the W cross they sunk and landed in the "new LZ" a few min later.

I hope Tev had a good time in Sacramento yesterday.

Given the weather that rolled through here on Friday, I am amazed that you got to fly! Did any of that go through the WS area?

Huge storms, hail, downed tree limbs, and a rainbow in Bethesda MD, crazy! 4-5ish pm though, so maybe things were more mellow to the west?
