6/29 and 6/30?

Post by sight »

Afternoon,

Anyone looking to roll the dice this weekend and try to get some air time? Looks like they are calling for chance of showers both days.

Matt,
I think Saturday will work. I am willing to try either Dickey's or Daniel's.

Do you guys really think that flying this weekend is worth the risk? Have you been looking at the skies the past few days? This "tropical" weather pattern is predicted to hang around for another week. Majorly unstable air each day. The potential for cu-nims surging up to 20K'+ MSL. The potential for strong storms/gust fronts. Bacil

I was 'hoping' the jet stream would push far enough south to clear the area of some of the warm moist air on Saturday.

If it does turn out nice and you are hanging out on launch you can fly and have a good safe time. But if you are at home and it turns into a good day you are SOL.

Going to keep checking the weather, still looking iffy and both Dickey's and Daniels are 5ish hour drive for me.

Maybe good karma in the form of site cleanup early at Daniels could pay off and keep the clouds from over developing. I know it's been many, many months since any work was done at Daniels so I'm expecting a hot mess. Who else wants to join an early work party?

Matt,

I am interested in getting there early and doing a couple of hours of site work. If it does not over develop, I'd then fly for a while and be on the ground early. I might then spend some more time on the site hoping for a thunderstorm to wash the dirt off!

Let me know what time you are planning on being at the landing field.

Thanks,
Jim

Daniels was on today. We all had nice soaring flights for a few hours. Launch was really overgrown, but it's nice enough to launch now.

Big thanks to Tom and Matt for observing a bunch of P-2 pilots and organizing the work party. Once again we got the instant Karma thing with awesome flying.
